Safe Sports School
The Safe Sports School Award recognizes secondary schools around the country that take the crucial steps to keep their athletes free from injuries. This award recognizes a school's dedication to the health and well-being of their student athletes.
NATA District 1 Safe Sports School Grant Program
The goal of the program is to increase the number of NATA 1st Team and 2nd Team Safe Sports School Awards presented to secondary schools in District One. To date, approximately 800 schools have been recognized as Safe Sports Schools by the NATA. Twenty-eight of these schools are within District One. The District 1 Executive Council has approved funding to provide grants to 18 D1 schools. The grant will cover the $150 application fee for the Safe Sports School Award. Each state in the District (ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT) will be guaranteed a minimum of three (3) grants. Funding preference will be given to schools meeting all criteria for 1st team selection; however, schools meeting 2nd team criteria are encouraged to apply.
